Overview
Design of Flood Protection Works Projects - Sultanat of Oman The Sultanate of Oman lies on the South-East comer of the Arabian Peninsula; between latitudes 16° 40' -26° 20' North and longitudes 51° 50' - 59° 40' East. The Governorate of Musandam lies in extreme North of the Sultanate. It is separated from the rest of the Sultanate by a strip of UAE land. Musandam is distinguished for its strategic location, with part of it known as Ras Musandam - overlooking the international water passage called the Strait of Hormuz which is suitable for navigation. It consists of four Wilayats: Khasab, Bukha, Dibba and Madha. With the increasing population and significant industrial development undertaken over the whole Sultanate territory, additional residential and industrial areas are planned to be developed. Therefore, the Ministry of Housing has undertaken the action to float a tender in the view of protecting the future urbanized areas against flooding
