Overview

Orascom Hotels and Development of Egypt has teamed up with the Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) to form the Muriya Tourism Development Company. That joint venture is planning to construct a new resort namely Jebel Sifa resort with four hotels. The study area is located in Sifa south east of Muscat on the gulf coast. The consultant has been appointed to study the effect of the different wadis that attack the resort and propose a flood protection solution for Jebel Sifa resort. A complete hydrologic and hydraulic study have been done to the study area to determine the flood values in the wadis that attack the resort and to determine the type of the protection needed

Survey of the study area
Collection of the Rainfall data from the rainfall station located at the project adjacent area
Rainfall data analysis to determine the rainfall intensity
Flood calculations based on the rainfall data analysis
Identifying to the Wadis attacking the project area
Applying hydraulic study to the wadis attacking the project area to determine the main hydraulic characteristics.
Identification & choice of different alternative for protecting the Wadis.
Conceptual design and evaluation of different alternatives
