Overview

The catchments areas contributing to each site are calculated from the surveyed map and enlarged hydrological contour map obtained from National Survey Authority (NSA), The wadi crossings and extent have been checked by satellite images, A frequency analysis of the maximum daily rainfall records was carried out to obtain the maximum daily rainfall corresponding to the different return periods (5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 500 year) The flood computations has been carried out based on Oman code of practice The EPA storm water management model (SWMM) has been used to simulate the effect of the runoff quantity for different storms size on the proposed drainage system for the study area Design of Storm Drainage Network Projects - Sultanat of Oman he main objective of project is to carry out all the required hydrological and hydraulic investigations for stormwater drainage and flood protection of the Bait El Baraka at Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. The existing drainage system been described and investigated to declare its disadvantages. After that, different alternatives of drainage routing has been proposed and examined. Based on the comparison the optimum design is selected. The drainage system is originally designed for 20 and 50 year return period design storms.
